  • Can I leave Early? Yes, although you will be charged for full reservation stay.
  • How long do you retain credit card information? We reserve the right to hold your credit card information up to 48 hours after your departure allowing us time to inspect the room you occupied for any damages.
  • What happens if I don‚Äôt arrive for my confirmed reservation? You will be charged for the full amount of your stay.
  • Can I Store my bags before Check-in or Check-out? Yes, we will be happy to store them in the Restaurant for you.
  • Can I check in early or stay late? This is not a guarantee and is subject to availability. Please check with the front desk.¬† Late check out is subject to a $25.00 per hour fee. ¬†Check in is 3:00 p.m. and Check out is 10:00 a.m.
  • Do you provide complimentary items if I forgot to pack something? Yes, each room is provided with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bar soap, lotion, bottled water, coffee, tea, hair dryers, and irons. Some incidentals are available at front desk during the summer months such as tooth paste, tooth brush, and shavers.
  • Is smoking allowed? No, the Bent Elbow is a smoke Free Hotel.
  • Are pets allowed? No, the Bent Elbow is a pet Free Hotel.
  • Where can I buy Gift Certificates? In the Restaurant or by calling (970) 387-5775 or emailing at dwatsonthebentelbow@gmail.com.
  • How far is the airport? Durango airport is 62 miles, Montrose airport is 61 miles, DIA (Denver) is 380 miles, and Albuquerque is 265 miles.
  • How far is Silverton Mountain? Approximately 6 miles.
  • How far is the Train drop off? Approximately 1 block.
  • Can I ride my ATV, UTV, or 4-wheeler from Hotel? Yes, we are on the ATV route.
  • Am I required to have an OHV permit? Yes, this can be purchased on-line with department of wildlife, locally at Silverton Grocery, San Juan Services, or Red Mountain Lodges.
  • When does the backcountry open and close? Most backcountry roads open in June and are closed by mid- October.
  • Is parking free? Yes, you may park in front or we have a parking lot next to the building.
  • Yes, we do have parking for trailers. In winter months (November- April) we advise you to park in the parking lot.
  • Are there Restaurants within walking distance? Yes, we have a restaurant on the grounds. It is open May- October.¬† Yes, there are many other choices. November and April there are only a few open.¬† Please call Silverton Chamber for an updated list at (970) 387-5654.
  • Is there shopping close by? Yes, we are in the middle of the business district. Most everything in Silverton is with-in walking distance. (Many shops close for the winter months (November- October). Please call the Silverton Chamber if you coming in those months for and updated list.¬† (970) 387-5654
  • Is there a Grocery Store? Yes, Silverton Grocery is a small grocery store that carries most everything. It is approximately 4 city blocks from the Hotel and is at the entrance of Silverton.

  • Can I ride the train from Silverton and Back? No, you can ride the train one way, although train does not originate in Silverton. Please call Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train for more information (970) 247-2733.
  • What do I do if I need to cancel my reservation? If you booked direct please call (970)387-5775 (please read cancellation policy for your knowledge).¬† Emails are not a form of cancellation and are not accepted. If you booked third party ie., Expedia, bookings.com, hotels.com¬†please call them, we cannot cancel your reservation on our end.
  • If I test positive¬†for COVID19¬†or am exposed to COVID19 after the cancellation period. Do I get a refund? Safety¬†of our guests and staff are extremely¬†important to us.¬† We have made it possible for you¬†to reschedule¬†your stay for a later date. Please call (970) 387-5775 to arrange this.¬†
